Description
This course emphasizes training students for critical thinking and the synthesis of ideas crossing disciplinary boundaries.
More introduction
The lectures include talks from invited speakers, plus student presentations on journal papers and/or thesis proposals. In-class group discussions among peers, facilitated by faculty, is essential. Evaluation will be based on presentations, participation in class discussions, notes on invited talks, and written assignments.
**Students are required to take 1 credit of this course in each semester of their first and second years (four semesters in total), and must complete a total of 4 credits. If a student intends to graduate early, they must enroll in Seminars in Biodiversity I or Seminars in Biodiversity II during their intended graduation semester to fulfill any remaining credit requirements.
