This course emphasizes training students for communicating effectively in the biodiversity sciences. Most notable foci are clear scientific thinking and application of communication theory from the social sciences into more effective science communication for the biodiversity sciences. Lectures include exploration of social scientific ideas in communication and psychology, as well as tested methods for more appropriate communication to specific audiences and contexts.
